Just hours before his death at the hands of the police, US deputy spokesman Vedant Patel had ruled on the pending execution, saying: “We are extremely disturbed by reports that Mr. Akbari he was drugged, tortured during his detention, interrogated for thousands of hours and forced to make false confessions”.

The repressive forces of Iran executed this Saturday the former deputy defense minister after being accused of allegedly spy for UK Intelligence Services, reported the news agency Mizan Online.

Akbari was 61 years old and was hanged on charges of “corruption on Earth and attacking the internal and external security of the country by transferring intelligence information,” the outlet cited.
