The Embassy of the United States in Ukraine issued a notice on Wednesday about the “growing and continuing threat of missile attacks” in kyiv after the “inflammatory rhetoric from Moscow” following the alleged drone attack on the seat of the Russian presidency.

“In light of the recent uptick in attacks in Ukraine and inflammatory rhetoric from Moscow, the State Department warns US citizens of a growing threat of missile attacks in the kyiv region”, he declared in a notice published on his website.

In this sense, the US Embassy published a series of recommendations and urged citizens to “follow the instructions of the local authorities”as well as to “consult additional security information”.

This announcement comes after the Investigative Committee of Russia has opened a criminal case to investigate the alleged drone attack on the seat of the Presidency, the Kremlin, as a possible “terrorist act” with the objective of end the life of the president, Vladimir Putin.

The Russian Presidency informed this Wednesday that shot down two Ukrainian drones in the immediate vicinity of the Kremlin. From the outset, Moscow pointed to kyiv as the main responsible for the alleged attack.

The ex-president Russian Dimitri Medvedev advocated for “physically remove” the President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelensky, while the president of the Russian Lower House, Viacheslav Volodincame to compare it with the self-proclaimed Islamic State.

For his part, the former Russian opposition deputy Ilya Ponomarevwho is in exile, stated in an interview with the chain CNN that the “attack” would have been carried out by “Russian partisans”. “I cannot say more, since they have not yet publicly claimed their authorship,” he stressed.

The alleged attack denounced by Moscow coincides with the latest bombardments by Russian forces on the region of Khersonwhich have left at least 18 dead in the area, as denounced by the Ukrainian authorities.

Air alert in kyiv

During the early hours of this Thursday, several explosions were heard in kyiv, where the air alert was activated, as well as in other regions of Ukraine such as Odessa, according to local media reports.

Authorities urged citizens to remain in shelters until the air alert is deactivated.

At the moment it is unknown if it is about attacks with bombs that have impacted and if there have been personal and material damages.

The Ukrainian authorities warned this Wednesday of the possibility that Russia would bomb kyiv with the excuse of the alleged attack carried out last night with drones against the Kremlin and that the Russian Presidency blames Ukraine.
