“Habemus final stretch,” wrote Ana Leticia Ocaña, sister of Octavio Ocaña, the actor who tragically died during a police chase in the state of Mexico.
The team of lawyers in charge of the case for the Ocaña family reported that “there are sufficient elements to prosecute those likely responsible for the homicide and various crimes related to the death of Octavio Augusto Pérez Ocaña.”
Octavio’s family has supported the hypothesis that the actor was killed during the police chase, contrary to the first versions of the police, in which they claimed that Octavio shot himself with a pistol that he had in the truck.
The lawyers reported: “Resulting so far in the arrest of the municipal police officer of Cuautitlán Izcalli Leopoldo N and in the search and location of his partner Gerardo N, who is a fugitive from justice so far.”
Octavio Ocaña was popular for his character Benito, in “Neighbors”, in which he participated as a child. He retired from acting during his adolescence to seek to fulfill his dream of playing soccer but returned to acting when he was 20 years old, resuming exactly the same character.
What is known so far of the day of his death is that municipal police tried to stop him in his truck but Octavio refused, so a manhunt began in the municipalities of Cuautitlán Izcalli and Atizapán.
The chase ended on the Chamapa-Lechería highway, where Ocaña’s truck crashed.
