The italian police discovered this Thursday a third apartment in which he hid Matteo Messina Denarothe boss of Cosa Nostra arrested this Monday in Italy after staying 30 years on the runas detailed by researchers who are recreating what their life was like on the island of Sicily.
The agents try to find out who owns that house, which is empty and is also in the town of Campobello di Mazaralike the other two units in which the fugitive lived.

Investigators located Wednesday a armored room as a “bunker” which contained objects and reports that could be related to his illegal activities, since the apartment he used as his main residence did not have any type of identification document.
Both the main house and the “bunker” were located in Campobello di Mazara, 300 meters away from each other.

The first records made the researchers think that there was another hiding place for the “capo” of the “mandate” (as the territories into which Cosa Nostra divides Sicily are known) from Trapani.
In the apartment, where it is believed that she lived for the last year, they only found numerous personal items, perfumes, designer clothes and restaurant bills that led investigators to believe that Messina Denaro led a high standard of living.
The owner of that second property was Errico Risalvatoa man who in 2001 was investigated for mafia activity and later released, while his brother, Giovanni Risalvatowas sentenced to 14 years in prison for collaborating with the mafia, local media reported.
For its part, Messina Denaro is now in the maximum security prisonin the central region of the abruzzowhere there are a hundred inmates under the harsh prison regime of the so-called “41 Encore”in which it is impossible to have contacts with the outside.

Messina Denaro, considered the last godfather, heir to the most ruthless Cosa Nostra and a fugitive since 1993, was arrested this Monday near the La Maddalena private hospital from Palermo, where he went to treat himself to a colon cancer that he suffered for a year under the false identity of Andrea Bonafede, 59 years old.
From that clinic, the Trapani oncologist Filippo Zerilli and doctor Alfonso Tumbarello, a family doctor from Campobello di Mazara who treated Messina, under the alias Andrea Bonafede, in addition to the real Bonafede, are being questioned.
