Netflix takes up the great plan of creating his own studio to develop his own titles and have a strong new line of business that reaches new audiences.

The company did not give too many details, although it mentioned that the investigation is based in Helsinki, Finland, and is directed by Marko Lastikka, who was the CEO and executive producer of Electronic Arts and the vice president of Zynga.

Faced with this decision, it is necessary to remember that last August it was known that only 1% of Netflix subscribers had downloaded their games for iOS and Android. However, the big ‘N’ is not giving up and plans to go deeper into her strategy.

Netflix wants to satisfy users with games for all tastes

“This is another step in our vision to build a world-class game studio that will bring a variety of delightful and deeply engaging original games, without ads or in-app purchases, to our hundreds of millions of members around the world.” Netflix stated on its official blog.

The first studio built from scratch for Netflix games is the company’s fourth attempt. And it is that it is not necessary to forget that the streaming service it has already acquired three other video game developers in the last year. The first was Night School Studio followed by Boss Fight Entertainment Y NextGames.

These four studios, each with different strengths and areas of focus, will develop games that cater to the diverse tastes of our subscribers.

Netflix video games could take time to arrive

With the announcement of its first video game studio, Netflix wants to show that its strategy for gamers this long term. This means that the new equipment to be installed in Helsinki will not produce the first results for a few years.

“It’s still early days and we have a lot more work to do to deliver a great gaming experience on Netflix. Building a game can take years, so we’re proud to see how we’re steadily building the foundation of our game studios in our first year, and look forward to sharing what we produce for years to come.”
