UFO experts theorize that “mother ships” could be flying through the solar system and sending probes to Earth

Avi Loeb (The Washington Post)

The doctor sean kirkpatrickdirector of the Pentagon’s UFO unit -called the All Domains Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO)-, and theoretical physicist Avi Loeb, former Chairman of the Department of Astronomy at Harvard and current Professor of Science “Frank B. Baird Jr.” from the prestigious university, claim in an article that alien “motherships” could be flying through our solar system and sending probes to Earth.

According to the researchers, alien equipment could arrive in two ways: space junksimilar to how our own interstellar probes (Voyager 1 and 2, Pioneer 10 and 11, and New Horizons) will appear in a billion years, or functional equipment as autonomous devices equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI).

They clarify that any functional devices embedded in Earth’s atmosphere are likely not to carry biological entities because they would not survive the long journey through interstellar space and its harsh conditions, including bombardment by energetic cosmic rays, X-rays, and gamma rays.

They hypothesized that aliens may have long ago sent a mothership across the galaxy, with the ability to launch its own smaller probes to visit interesting planets it passes through.

Scientists consider the possibility that “an artificial interstellar object could be a matrix ship that releases many small probes during its near-Earth pass, an operational construct not unlike NASA missions. These “dandelion seeds” could be separated from the main ship by tidal gravitational pull from the Sun or by maneuverability.”

With proper design, they mused, these tiny probes would reach Earth or other planets in the solar system for exploration. They say that astronomers would not be able to notice spray from mini-probes because they don’t reflect enough sunlight for existing telescopes to notice it, even the mighty James Webb’s.

Within close range of a star, alien technology probes could use starlight to charge their batteries and use liquid water as fuel. “This would explain why they would aim for the habitable region around stars, where liquid water can exist on the surface of rocky planets with atmospheres, such as Earth. Habitable planets would be particularly attractive to trans-medium probes, capable of moving between space, air, and water. From a great distance, Venus, Earth or Mars would be equally attractive to probes. But upon closer inspection, Earth would display spectral signatures of liquid water and vegetation that could attract selective attention”, write Kirkpatrick and Loeb.

In the six-page article, titled Physical restrictions in unidentified aerial phenomena, the researchers consider that the general purpose of the trip would be for the probes to be able to propagate the project of their senders: “As with biological seeds, the raw materials on the surface of the planet could also be used by them as nutrients for self-replication. or just for scientific exploration. It is important to note that given the time scales associated with the propulsion scheme discussed here, it is not reasonable to affirm that the intention of any probe of this type launched in the distant past has something to do with the human species. More likely, and similar to NASA missions: the objective would be scientific and exploratory in nature.”
