Ukrainian President, Volodimir Zelenskysigned several decrees this Friday to impose new sanctions against 37 individuals and 212 companies associated with both Moscow and the pro-Russian oligarch Viktor Medvedchuk.
“Another sanctions package for today. I have signed a decree imposing restrictive measures on the ownership of Russian companies in Ukraine and ownership of Ukrainian entities affiliated with them (…) In addition, sanctions were introduced against companies related to Medvedchuk and other sanctioned personsZelensky said.
Specifically, one of those sanctioned is the employer and former Ukrainian deputy Andrii Derkachconsidered as pro-russian agent and also sanctioned by the United States for interfere in the US presidential election of 2020.
Under the decree, Derkach, charged with treason and illegal enrichment by the Ukrainian Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, he was deprived of his citizenship, while his assets were blocked for ten years.
The Russian holding company was also added to the ‘black list’ HSM Groupspecialized in machine construction and engineering, as well as Zaporizhstalof the Ukrainian oligarch Rinat Akhmetovas reported by the news agency UNIAN.

“We will not leave any terrorist state ties in Ukraine that can be used against our state, against our economy or against our people,” Zelensky said in his daily address.
He added that his government is actively working with its partners so that all those responsible and allies of Russia who provide their collaboration with weapons, ammunition and technology “are crushed by the world.”
The support of the European Union continues
The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Policy, Josep Borrell, warned the Russian president, Vladimir Putinthat the Twenty-seven will not withdraw their support for Ukraine, insisting that the bloc it will not allow it to become a country in the orbit of Moscow like Belarus.
“I want to send a clear message to Putin. There is and will not be tired. We will continue to support Ukraine as much as it needs and for as long as it takes.”reiterated the head of community diplomacy after the informal meeting of foreign ministers in stockholm.

He regretted that the Russian president has no intention of abandoning his goal of “subjugating” Ukraine and continuing “bombing, attacking and destroying” the country. defended that the European Union will continue to provide military, political, economic and humanitarian support to Ukraine on a priority basis.
“Russia does not want to stop fighting and Ukraine cannot stop fighting. If you want to continue to exist as a nation, you can’t stop.”, he indicated about the Ukrainian Army that receives military aid from the EU and the United States.
Regarding the prospect of peace negotiations, Borrell insisted that any initiative has to go through the conditions set by the Ukrainians and defined President Volodimir Zelensky’s formula as “the only comprehensive framework” for a “just” peace.
“We want peace, but we want a capitulation”, he added about the Russian military operations, to underline that Ukraine has to remain an independent and sovereign nation. “We do not want Ukraine to become another Belarus.”expressed in reference to the ties of the regime of Alexander Lukashenko with the Kremlin.
