“We had successes in the southern and southeastern areas of Robotine, we consolidated the recovered ground,” Kovalov said, quoted by the Army’s Telegram channel. Kovalov also explained that the Russian Army is trying to recover from losses and continues attacking Ukrainian positions in that part of the front.
Regarding Bakhmut, Kovalov stated that Ukraine continues to advance south of the citywhere it also contains the Russian counterattacks.
“Here the enemy launches offensive actions without success,” added the spokesman for the kyiv General Staff.

Ukraine focuses its counteroffensive actions on three distinct segments of the front: Bakhmut, the part of Donetsk province bordering Zaporizhzhia to the west, and Zaporizhzhia itself.
New reinforcements
President Joe Biden’s administration is about to approve the shipment to Ukraine of longer-range missiles loaded with cluster bombswhich would give Kiev forces the ability to cause significant damage deeper inside Russian-occupied territory, four US officials said.
Following the success achieved in recent months with cluster munitions carried in 155 mm artillery shells, The United States is considering sending one or both of the Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS)which can fly up to 306 kilometers, or guided multiple launch system (GMLRS) missiles, with a range of 45 kilometers and loaded with cluster bombs, three US officials explained.

If approved, either option would be available for rapid shipping to kyiv.
Ukraine is currently equipped with 155-millimeter artillery with a maximum range of 29 kilometers carrying up to 48 bombs. The ATACMS being considered would power 300 or more. The GMLRS rocket system, a version that Ukraine has had in its arsenal for months, could disperse up to 404 cluster munitions.
At a time when the Ukrainian offensive against Russian forces shows signs of progress, the US government is interested in bolstering the Ukrainian military, two of the sources said.

However, The four officials clarified that the decision to send ATACMS or GMLRS, or both, is not final. For months, the Biden administration has debated ATACMS, fearing that its deployment would be perceived as an overly aggressive move against Russia.
According to Jake Sullivan, White House National Security Advisor, Ukraine gave the United States “a few weeks ago” a text in which it committed that its Armed Forces will only use these cluster bombs on the battlefield and not in areas urban areas where there may be harm to civilians. These promises were included in the formal request that the Ukrainian Government made to the United States to request the delivery of those cluster bombs, the National Security Advisor detailed.
