Ukraine denied that Soledar fell into Russian hands and assured that it killed more than a hundred Putin soldiers in one day

The defenders of Ukraine they eliminated in a single attack more than a hundred Russian soldiers near the city of solderin the region of Donetskreported today the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“This happened thanks to the coordinated work of the soldiers of the Special Operations Forces, Gunners and Missile Forces”, indicated the General Staff on Facebook, quoted by the Ukrinform agency.

He specified that the Special Operations Forces “detected an enemy concentration in several places” and that “he headed artillery to defeat the enemyand also used a Tochka-U tactical missile system in one of the locations.

As a result, more than a hundred Russian soldiers were eliminated and two machine guns and two mortars were destroyed, he noted.

According to the General Staff, the Russian troops are concentrating their efforts on offensive actions in the direction of bakhmut and the fight for Soledar continues.

Ukrainian Armed Forces Yesterday they denied the alleged taking of Soledar by Russian troopsafter the head of the mercenary company Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhinensured that the units of the group had taken control of the town.

On the other hand, in its latest report, the US Institute for War Studies (ISW) points out that Russia’s inability to cope with ammunition shortages is likely will hamper the ability of Russian forces to sustain offensive operations in eastern Ukraine in 2023.

The ISW also noted that Russian sources “increasingly recognize that Russia’s ammunition and supply shortages are decisively hampering the ability of Russian forces to advance.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin said the situation in areas of Ukraine that Russia says it has annexed remained “difficult in some places”.

However, Putin, in a televised meeting with government officials, claimed that Russia had all the necessary resources to improve life in the four Ukrainian regions that Moscow unilaterally claimed to have annexed in September 2022.

Since the capture of the town of Lisichansk at the beginning of July last year, the Russian Army has suffered several setbacks, such as the withdrawal from Khersonincluding the regional capital, and part of the region of Kharkiv.
