Ukraine revealed that among the 23 killed by Russian bombing in Uman there are five children

Of the 23 dead confirmed so far after the impact of a Russian missile in an apartment block in Uman (central Ukraine), five are childrenreported this Saturday the Ministry of the Interior.

“In the identification process, it has been found that five minors have died: two boys (one and a half years old and 16 years old) and three girls (8, 11 and 14 years old)”, wrote the press service of the Ministry on its Facebook account.

“A woman is still missing. The search continues,” added the message, attributed to the Interior Minister, Ihor Klymenko.

As a result of the attack, which occurred in the early hours of Friday and caused damage to a dozen apartment blocks, they were also injured 18 people.

On the other hand, a woman and her young son died yesterday in Dnipro (east) as a result of the impact of another Russian missile.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the attacks were directed against Ukrainian military targets and all of them were “hit.”

Ukrainian President, Volodimir Zelensky, on Friday condemned Russian attacks that hit civilian areas.

Last night the enemy attacked Ukraine again with missiles and drones. The terrorists hit infrastructure and civilians,” Zelensky said in his Telegram account, explaining that ten residential buildings were hit by the shelling in the city of Uman and also offered his condolences to the victims of Dnipro.

Zelensky asked the international community “a just response” to this Russian bombardment. “Every attack like this, every act of evil against our country and our people, brings the terrorist state closer to failure. and to be punished and not the other way around as they think,” Zelensky declared.

We won’t forget any crime, we won’t let any invader evade responsibility”, added the Ukrainian head of state, whose message was accompanied by photographs of several buildings burned down and partially destroyed by the Russian attack this morning.

Zelensky thanked the ukrainian military that operate the anti-aircraft defenses who protect Ukrainian cities from Russian attacks with missiles and drones and also had words of thanks for the rescue teams.

The president also explained that emergency services continue to work to rescue people from under the rubble in Uman. “There are still people trapped,” Zelensky wrote.

Russia fired more than 20 cruise missiles and two drones at kyiv and other parts of Ukraine during the early hours of this Friday in an offensive that caused at least eight dead and hit a residential building in the center of the country.

Air raid sirens went off in the capital in the first attack on the city in nearly two months, and the Ukrainian air force intercepted 11 cruise missiles and two drones over Kiev, according to its municipal government.

During the boreal winter, Russian attacks focused on the basic infrastructure and provoked frequent cuts in the supply of electricity and running water.

Ukraine has been bolstered in recent months with shipments of Western air defense equipment crucial to the country’s war effort. In April, it received the sophisticated American systems patriot.

Its capital was targeted last week by an attack with 12 Iranian-made drones, of which eight were killed. The action caused no casualties.

After 14 months of war, the main fighting is currently taking place in the east of the country for control of the industrial region of Donbas and, especially, for the city of Bakhmutalmost completely destroyed.

Ukraine says it has been preparing for months a confra-offensive to expel Russian forces from the territories they occupy in the east and south of the country.
