The military administration of the city of kyiv reported the downing of all drones during a nighttime airstrike, which did not cause any damage or casualties.

“The sixth air raid on the capital since the beginning of May! This time the enemy attacked using exclusively unmanned aerial vehicles,” said the head of kyiv’s military administration, Serhii Popko, in a Telegram message collected by “Ukrainska Pravda.”

During the latest air alert, which lasted 2.5 hours in Kiev, “all enemy drones heading for Kiev were successfully destroyed,” he noted, adding that “no damage or injuries were reported in the capital.”

Ukraine announced Friday that its forces recaptured part of the territory around the besieged Bakhmut cityin the eastern region of Donetskand which has been the epicenter of fighting with Russia for months.

The enemy has suffered heavy human losses. Our defense forces advanced two kilometers near Bakhmut. We have not lost any position in Bakhmut this week,” said Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyarin a statement on social media.

In her message, Vice Minister accused Russia of “praising itself and making up stories about our military command”.

“At the same time, the enemy gives false information about the lack of weapons, with which he probably wants to justify the real situation” in Bakhmut, Malyar added in reference to the comments of the head of the Wagner mercenary group, Yevgeny Prigozhinon the lack of ammunition that would explain the evolution of the situation in Bakhmut.

These claims come after another senior Ukrainian military official said this week that Russian forces had withdrawn from some areas near Bakhmut after the kyiv counterattack.
