Ukrainian authorities confirmed three new civilian deaths in Donetsk

The Ukrainian authorities announced today that A Russian attack on the town of Kostiantinivka, in the Donetsk region (east) left three fatalities and at least two injured this Saturday.

“Three civilians were killed and at least two wounded in a rocket attack by the Russian occupiers this morning in Kostiantinivka”Pavlo Kyrylenko, Ukrainian governor of the region under partial control of the pro-Russians, reported on his Telegram account.

“The Russians fired into a residential area and damaged four apartment buildings, a hotel, garages and civilian cars,” he added, noting that the rescue efforts have not been completed.

According to the Ukrainian agency “Ukrinform”, over the last 24 hours four civilians have lost their lives in the Donetsk region, the scene of heavy fighting.

Russian offensive

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Army has verified new offensives by Russian forces in the last few hours in more than a dozen towns in the east and south of the country, part of which have managed to be repelled.

Russia, according to the General Staff in its Telegram account, has launched this new offensive in three directions: Bakhmut, Avdiiv and Novopavlivwhich has resulted in fighting in at least twelve locations.

The Ukrainian emergency service has also reported this Saturday of air warnings in the Dnepropetrovsk, Poltava, Kirovogrado, Mykolaiv and Kharkiv regionsaccording to the official alert resource, as well as in disputed areas such as Zaporizhia or Kherson.

There, pro-Russian forces have denounced at least 18 Ukrainian rocket launches, to which must be added another eleven in the Gorlovka area, in the area of ​​the Donetsk region controlled by Russia.

Serious situation

The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelensky, assured this Friday that the situation of the front in the region of Donetsk, near Bakhmut and Vuhledar“it is still extremely serious.”

“The occupiers are not only storming our positions, they are They are deliberately and methodically destroying the surrounding towns and villages.”he stressed in a speech broadcast this afternoon.

According to Zelensky, the Russian army “does not lack means of destruction”: artillery, aviation and missiles. “And it can only be stopped by force,” he asserted.

The president also once again underlined the heroism of his soldiers fighting in the region. “Our soldiers, who defend the areas of the Donetsk region, are true heroes. I thank each of you for your bravery!” he stated.

Ukraine said this week that the Russian army, superior in number of troops and material, has intensified its attacks in the east, especially in Vuhledar and Bakhmut, a town they have been trying to take for months.

Ukrainian army spokesman Sergei Cherevaty confirmed that they were fighting “fierce fighting” in Vuhledar but he assured that the Russian forces were repelled. “The enemy is looking for a victory in that sector but he doesn’t get it thanks to the efforts of the Ukrainian defense forces,” he said on television.
