After several weeks of intensive training in Germany, Ukrainian soldiers are now ready to use Western-supplied Leopard 2 tanks in combat, the broadcaster has reported Tages Schau.
At the end of your course, crews have practiced strikes and retreats with live ammunition at the Bergen military training area in Lower Saxony.
The training has been based on combat exercises in the field –called school shooting–, exercises in simulators, and training with teams, according to the brigadier general Bjorn Schultzcommander of the tank troop school in Munster, Lower Saxony.
In this sense, Schulz pointed out that Germany has made “everything humanly possible” to provide the best training possiblealthough it is not all that he would have liked.
The supply of Western tanks has been the main demand of the Ukrainian authorities throughout the last few months until Germany finally unblocked the matter. The United States also confirmed weeks ago the shipment of more than thirty Abrams battle tanks to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
