It extends from the “El Aguacero” waterfall to the Malpaso dam reservoir.
The river is 80 to 90 meters wide in some parts, with drastic changes to 10 meters wide, and there is even a part where the walls come together becoming a cavern.
It is a geological fracture with vertical walls up to 400 meters high, with caverns, rapids and waterfalls, whose beauty is only accessible to highly prepared expeditions with specialized equipment.
However, if you are not an adrenaline lover or an expert, there is also a park that you can explore by speedboat and enjoy a pleasant ride.
There is a part where the walls join together, becoming a cavern that in the rainy season the torrent becomes a terrible siphon in the wide sections, which is why the best time to visit is from January to May.

It is reached by federal highway number 190, which goes to Mexico City. 11 km from the city of Ocozocoautla, there is the detour with 3 km of dirt road that leads to the El Aguacero waterfall, starting point of the La Venta River. It is located 56.4 km, approximately one hour, from Tuxtla Gutiérrez.
