She loved country music, and Julie had set up an Instagram page for her where nearly 9,000 followers were appreciating photos of her in a variety of outfits, from Wild West hats to colorful bows.
At the beginning of this year, the Guinness Book of World Records recognized with the official certificate of the oldest dog in the world TobyKeith, a 21 year old chihuahua. When the news hit the media, several friends of the Gregorys – who knew that Pebbles was 22 years old – forwarded the news to them telling them that they should contact the institution to claim Pebbles’ certificate. And they do it like that. The Gregorys sent all the documentation of her pet to certify that she was 22 years old and the book Guinness ended up giving him the certificate as the oldest dog on the planet.
Five months after turning 23Pebbles passed away peacefully at home, accompanied by Julie and Bobby, who always took care of her, the Guinness organization reported. The Gregory for their part, also released the news on social networks.
“It was an honor for us to have had her as a pet and as a member of our family. There was never anyone who knew Pebbles who didn’t love her.”, they wrote on the social network Instagram.
When Guinness gave him his certificate of longevity, the image of Pebbles reached the media around the world. At that time, Julie said that although the dog was still very happy and playful, her age was noticeable by the number of hours she slept a day. Her days only started at 5 in the afternoon.
The other secret of longevity, according to its owners, has to do with the healthy food and the atmosphere of love in which he always lived.
“You have to treat them like a member of the family, because they are. Give them a positive and happy environment, as much as possible. Good food, cleanliness, and proper health care,” Julie said of what she considered her youngest daughter.
