Israel will not sit idly by when there are those who try to harm its civilians. This government has a zero tolerance policy for any attempted attack, of any kind, from Gaza into Israeli territory,” Lapid said.

His statements came after a strong Israeli “preventive” offensive against targets of the Palestinian group in Gaza, which responded with the launch of dozens of rockets in what already represents the most serious peak of violence since the war escalation of May 2021.

Hostilities have not yet broken down and continue in both directions, including a new series of Israeli shelling of facilities allegedly used by the Palestinian group to manufacture and launch rockets.
